! Birth of Joseph Samuel Morrison 18 JUl 1852 to John B. Morrison and Mary Littlepohn, near Flemingsburg. Births of Charles Wallingford 8 Feb 1856 and Helen Wallingford 5 Oct 1859, children of Joseph S. Wallingford and Helen Morrison. Birth of Martha B. Morrison 28 Apr 1858 to David Morrison and Eliza A. Hayter. Birth of Frank S. Morrison 14 Apr 1859 to William H. Morrison and Mary E. Lyons. Please note that the birth records do not go back past 1850's in Fleming County, Kentucky.
! Many Morrisons can be found in the records of the Revolutionary War, for the states of New Hampshire, New York, Virginia, North Carolina, etc. I believe our line can probably be traced to Scotland, but more research needs to be done on this line before we can be sure.
! The IGI lists these early Morrisons as residents of Fleming County, Ky. John Morrison married Flora McCord 6 Apr 1797. Joseph Morrison married Jane Cunningham 30 Apr 1803. John Morrison married Martha Henderson 2 Jun 1808. David Morrison married Jane Henderson 9 Aug 1808. Margaret Morrison married Lot Foster 29 Nov 1810. John Morrison married Lucy Smoot 26 Mar 1812. Jane Morrison married David Crofton 28 Jun 1816. Nancy Morrison married Philip Henry Helphenstine 4 Aug 1817. Nancy Morrison married John Overly 22 Oct 1819. etc.
! The 1840 census lists Squire Morrison age 20-30 wife 20-30 1 son under 5 yrs., and 2 daughters under 5 yrs. Also David S. Morrison age 20-30 wife age 20-30, 1 son under 5 yrs. and William D. Morrison aged 30-40 mother aged 60-70, wife aged 30-40, no children.
! William Morrison, age 63, farmer, widower, died 3 May 1857, of old age, son of Robert and Elizabeth Morrison. He would have been born about 1794, and could be a brother to our Nancy Morrison. Elizabeth Morrison, age 86, widow, died 15 Dec 1858, of old age, she was born in Virginia. She would have been born about 1772. You may draw your own conclusions or do some research yourself on these Morrisons. I hope to do some myself in the future, but for now this is about all I can give you.
