! William's estate was settled in 1854, at which time his home was sold. This house was located at 629 S. Cameron St. 2 blocks south of his father, Major Peter Helphenstine. William owned this home from 1803 until his death. The home is now called the Stickel Home, for a teacher R.L. Stickel that lived here in the early 1900'S. From 1912 to 1965 (his death date). Mr. Stickel was a teacher at the Handley High School. The house is listed in the Frederick County Deed Books as follows: February 20, 1786 - John Michael Ritter to Conrad Creamer (Cramer, Kremer) F.D.B. 21 - Pg. 218, Feb. 8, 1792 - Conrad Creamer to Richard Holiday F.D.B. 23 - Pg. 152 Note; This was probably about the time that Conrad Kremer and his wife Catherine took over Major Peter Helphenstine's house after the death and settlement of Catherine, wife of Major Peter Helphenstine. Aug. 15, 1794 - Richard Holiday to Nathaniel White F.D.B. C.2 - Pg. 272, Nathaniel White to James Glenholmes F.D.B. 24B - Pg. 420, July 7, 1795 James Glenholmes to Adam Douglas F.D.B. 24B - Pg. 420, 1803 - Adam Douglas to William H. Helveston (Helphinstine) June 30, 1854 - Dorsey Walter, special commissioner, settling estate of Helphinstine to William B. Walter W.D.B. 10 - Pg. 95. The house changes hands several times after William's death and as of 1965 the house was owned by Elizabeth Grim. Almost 200 years old. This home is listed in the Historical Register. Incidently this was another one of Lord Fairfax's grants to James Wood. James Wood sold the lot (#194 - corner of Cameron and Germain St.), to John Michael Ritter.

! Christian Streit married William Helphenstine and Sarah Cordell.

! One of William's daughters married a man by the last name of Heister. He was a tailor by trade.

! On the 1810 census William is listed as Head of Household age 26 - 45 with wife age 26 - 45 and 2 boys and 3 girls under 10, and 1 boy 10 - 16 and one person not taxed.

! According to Bertha Martinez Wm. and Elizabeth had only 2 children. Miranda who married James Kissick 23 Mar. 1866 and Hiram who died of measles in 1864. Later Miranda had all bodies moved to Flemingsburg Cemetery and put in Kissick plot. They are next to her and her husband. Her grave memorial has Maranda not Miranda on it. They were originally in the farm cemetery.

! 1900 census shows William born in Aug. 1818, age 81, and Elizabeth born in Mar. 1822 age 78. My records show William was born in 1819.

! Death record in Fleming Co., Ky. says William died of old age. Father of Miranda Kissick.

! Settlement Book M, Pgs. 117-121, Fleming County, Kentucky, Lawsuit No. 5215, Chancery Court, 1834 - - Two new deeds were ordered by the court, giving Philip H. 103 Acres and William 93 Acres of the land their father had when he died.

! Deed Book S, Pgs. 200-201 Fleming County, Kentucky, 3 June 1834, William P. sold the 93 acres of land he got from his father to Sam Pearce. This land was on Fox Creek, which was a part of the land originally owned by John Philip Jacob Helphinstine, his father.

! On the 1830 U.S. Census Pg.67, Line 23, William Helphinstine had two sons in the 0-5 bracket; 1 in the 5-10 bracket; he was in the 20-30 bracket; and a male in the 70-80 bracket (his father John Philip Jacob and his mother Rebecca was living with him) Philip died shortly after the census was taken. His death occurring on 12 Oct 1830.

! William P. and Emily evidently lived in Bath County for a period of time, because their son Lewis Harrison was born in Bath County.

! In 1840 William is listed as a resident of Fleming Co., Ky.

! Two of William's children's births are recorded in John Philip Jacob's Bible Record. Nancy born 2 February 1831, and Rebecca born 13 May 1833. William may have been next to keep up the family bible, but the government wanted the pages for record to get John Philip Jacob's wife Rebecca her pension.
