! Mrs. Mary Welsh age 74, died suddenly at her home in Whitestown this morning from heart trouble. She had been ill since Sunday but her death was unexpected. ! Mrs. Welsh is the mother of Mrs. B.F. McMakin of Whitestown, Mrs. Sam D. Bryan of Hobart, Okla., Mrs. C.W. Howk of Danville, Ill., Mrs. E.J. Brown of West Lafayette. Lebanon Pioneer Feb 6, 1930.

! Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Welsh, who died suddenly at Whitestown Thursday morning at six o'clock, will be conducted from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. B.F. McMakin in Whitestown Sunday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. Orville Woody and the Rev. E.P. Prevo officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in this city. ! Mrs. Welsh was born in Rowan Co., Ky. Feb 2, 1856. She was twice married, the first marriage occurring Jan 1, 1877 at Flemingsburg, Ky. to John L. Gorman, who died many years ago. Her next marriage was at Indianapolis to John L. Welsh in 1892. Mr. Welsh also preceded her in death. ! Surviving are the following children; Mrs. B.F. McMakin of Whitestown, Mrs. Sam D. Bryan of Hobart, Okla., Mrs. C.W. Howk of Danville, Ill., Mrs. E.J. Brown of West Lafayette. She also leaves one brother, John Helphinstine of Fleming Co, Ky. and three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Foudray of Castleton, Ky. (should have read In.), Mrs. Susie Hamilton and Miss Eliza Helphinstine of Fleming County, Ky. Mrs. Welsh united with the Methodist Church at New Hope, Ky. when a young girl and later transferred her membership to Lebanon Centenary Methodist Church. She resided on North Jameson streen in this city for many years. Lebanon Reporter Feb. 7, 1930.
