Anna Jackson m. a Guinn

The reason why I believe that Anne Jackson Guinn is a daughter of John Jackson is just a theory as of this time but there is strong evidence that says she is. First there is the 1838 tax list for Smyth Co. VA. (Free Colored Persons) which has Anne Guinn listed next to our John Jackson. She has no husband listed but her children are shown;
Guinn, Anne M 32 Rich Valley
Guinn, Sally M 15 Rich Valley
Guinn, Polly M 12 Rich Valley
Guinn, Viney M 10 Rich Valley
Guinn, Fanny M 5 Rich Valley
Guinn, William M 2 Rich Valley

On the 1839 Smyth Co, VA tax list John Jackson is living with Ann and she has a new son, Leonard Guinn.

By 1842 Ann looks to be living or married to Thornton Fleming. Also, her father, John Jackson has moved in with her brother Anderson Jackson. 1842 Smyth

Here in 1844 Smyth Ann still with Thornton Fleming but I'm unable to tell if they are married. The ages are definitely wrong for both Thornton and Ann. Guinn, Ann Y 50

The 1850 Smyth Co. VA. census has a William Guinn age 14 (Mulatto) living in the household of Thomas McGrady and 2 households away a Leonard Guinn age 13 (Mulatto) is living with David McGrady. These 2 boys appear to be children of Anne Guinn.

I find Leonard Guinn next in 1870 living with the Anderson Jackson clan in Henry Co Iowa and apparently he has married Anderson Jackson's youngest daughter Nancy J Jackson and is living next door to Alexander Jackson, brother to Nancy. This would be his 1st cousin. This whole group is listed as Indian.

Then in 1880 Henry Co. Iowa Leonard Guinn has remarried to a Mary J Jackson which I believe to be the widow of Alexander Jackson who has died about 1875. So in closing I must say that there is a lot of evidence pointing towards Anne Guinn being a daughter of John Jackson. But please remember that this is undocumented.
