The Fairmount Lions Club has purchased the " Stage " from the Fairmount High School. Below are Some Pictures of The School and Members of the Lions Club who worked Three-Days to remove Nails from the Stage Boards. In the Spring we hope to have a Place to Rebuild the Stage where James Dean acted out his Class Plays under the direction of Adline Nall, his Speech Teacher. The Fairmount Lions Club hopes everyone will have the opportunity to view the Stage at the James Dean Run in September of 2013. I will inform people thru My WebPage of upcoming information.
IN AUGUST, 2010 THE FAIRMOUNT LIONS CLUB BOUGHT THE " STAGE " FROM THE M-G YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE. WE REMOVED IT IN JUST 3-DAYS. WE ARE AWAITING ON BIDS TO HAVE IT REBUILT FOR EVERYONE TO SEE. THIS " STAGE " IS WHERE JAMES DEAN STARTED OUT HIS ACTING CARREER WHILE ATTENDING IN HIS HIGH SCHOOL YEARS.
THESE DECATED FAIRMOUNT LIONS CLUB MEMBERS ARE THE ONES WHO REMOVED THE NAILS FROM THE STAGE FLOORING.
FAIRMOUNT LIONS CLUB
IN THE FALL OF 1989, The Fairmount Lions Club formed a Committee to Design their First " James Dean Lions Pin ". The James Dean Rod Run is held in Fairmount, Indiana on the last full week-end in September every year in Memory of The Legendary James Byron Dean. James Dean grew up on a Farm just North of Fairmount and he Graduated in May 1949 from Fairmount High School.
To get started that First Year 1990, we Only ordered 500 Pins to Sell on that Week-End. With the idea to Sell the other 500 Pins thru Mail-Orders. Which that didn't happen, so we Cancelled the Other 500 Pins. The 1991 Pin is Numbered on The Back of the State of Indiana. It has NO-CARD. There was ONLY 500 Pins made that Year. In 1993 we ONLY made 500 Pins and Collector Cards. In 1992 and 1994 to the Present, we now make Only 1,000 Pins and Collector Cards WorldWide. Starting in 1995, we had Information on the Front and Back of our Collector Cards.
The Collector Cards for our Pins was to inform our People about the Pictures on the Pins. We Only use Licensed Pin Manufactures for our Pins. We are Licensed with CMG WorldWide, Indianapolis, Indiana, James Dean Inc.
Each Collector Cards is Numbered on the Front at the Bottom. On the Back of the Collector Card tells Story which pertains to the Picture on the Front of the State. Each Collector's Card with the Pin Now comes in a Zip-Lock-Bag.
Our Customer's Reserve certain Numbers each Year since 1990 to the Present. This is why Our Pins have been a Success. We have a Strong Support of James Dean Fans and Collector's from all over the World to the Present Day.
Our Purpose for Designing these " James Dean " Collector Pins is to give away a Scholorship to a Graduating Senior who Lives in the Fairmount Area from our Local High School.
The Committee that started in the Fall of 1989 have Moved on and Resigned from our Club. I started out as the Chairmen for our Club to the Present Day. I Design the Pins along with the Cousin of " James Dean " - CMG. These Pins have become a Real Collector's Item and many are Hard to Find. As Chairmen of our Lions Club my name is Lion Jake Roth.
