Comteck Windows XP Setup

  1. Click on Start, and click on Run. In the window type in inetwiz (In all lower-case letters)



  2. In this window put a dot next to Connect Using My Phone Line,
    then hit the Next button at the bottom of the window.



  3. In the next window place a dot on Create a New Dial-Up Connection, and then hit Next.
    (You may or may not see this screen depending on if you have had a connection setup before.)



  4. Type the dial-up number that corresponds to your area in the telephone number field.
    Be sure to take the area code out if it appears in the area code box, and take the checkmark
    out of the use area code and dialing rules box.

    (The dial-up numbers and the corresponding cities are listed below.)



  5. Marion, Sweetser, Swayzee, Converse => 384-5060 (v.90) or 384-7221 (v.92)
    Fairmount, Matthews, Upland => 668-8102
    Kokomo => 454-2100
    Peru => 395-7961
    Wabash => 569-0498
    Muncie, Anderson => 213-6900

    Anyone that can dial a (384) number for local access, and has a V.92 modem needs to dial 384-7221.
    (Only if you have a modem that support the V.92 feature.)


  6. Click the Advanced button towards the bottom of the window.


  7. At the top of this window you should have a dot on Internet Service Provider Automatically Provides One,
    and at the bottom you should have a dot on Always Use the Following. In the Primary DNS Server box
    type 64.184.48.5, and in the Alternate Server box type 64.184.48.2 then click the Ok button.



  8. You should now be back to the window asking for the telephone number, just click the Next button at the bottom.


  9. In the new window here type in your username and password, then click Next.



  10. On this window it's asking for you to name the connection just type in Comteck.



  11. On the next window it asks if you want to setup your e-mail account, choose yes and click Next.



  12. In this new window type your full name, and click Next.



  13. Now, type your e-mail address and click Next.



  14. On the next window make sure the incoming mail server is set to POP3, then for incoming mail, type
    mail.comteck.com and for outgoing type smtp.comteck.com Then click Next.

    (Make sure you type the mail servers in all lower-case letters.)




  15. The next window asks for the Account Name and Password, the Account Name should already be there so just type your password and click Next.



  16. We're almost done! On this last window just click Finish at the bottom. Now you should be setup and ready to go.
