Courthouse-1908, Marion, Indiana
Hello, my name is Sheila D. Watson and I will be working with you and for you, in creating a database where most early Grant County Records can be found. Anyone wanting to volunteer to do look ups or making data bases for our early records can contact me here and together I hope we can make this happen. I have already done most of the cemetery work in Grant County as you can see by my records listed here. Any interesting articles or stories of early Grant County will be greatly appreciated. Let’s make this the best and most complete database for our county. Just drop me a line.

If you would like to host a county, contact our State Coord.
Debby Beheler.
Or visit our "orphan counties" site,
Marilyn Fisher

Or visit our "Unknown County Page"
if you know the event is in Indiana
but don't know what county it is in.
Lots of information here folks.

      Two 1920 Fairmount Basketball Players
Submitted by Jeanette Leach, the first one is Earl Rich and the second one is????
Does anyone know who the young man in the second photo is? Contact me and I will post it here.
We have an answer finally. I believe that the basketball player in your picture is Thurman D. Lewis, he later went on to teaching there and in his later years owned the Walgreen drugstore from the late 30's to 50's when he died. He was the son of William J. Lewis and Ida Lewis (Maiden name was Ida Milner). Both Ida and William died in 1956. Submitted by Toby Lewis grandson of William and Ida Lewis
